First 3 miles

For the past week I’ve been taking the boys on 1.5 mile walks. This morning, I took them on my full 3 mile route around the neighborhood, including the evil 1/2 mile hill!
The walk was pretty good for me. I was wearing my Asics, and as usual, they served me well. I can’t help but feel that they are ten times better than the Mizuno’s I got. It gives much better support and cushioning where I need it the most. I’m still going to give the Mizuno’s a bit more time to break in. Plus, I still want to do some test runs with the original insoles. It may be that I’m just not be used to wearing insoles. If they don’t end up working out, I’m just going to return them and get another pair of my Asics.
On a random note: during my first test run with the Mizunos’s I tried to run my 400m speedwork under the time table I came up with for when training starts next week. I was wondering exactly how fast I would have to run to get it in that time. The answer… pretty damn fast! A lot faster than I’m used to running, that’s for sure. But not too fast that I can’t complete the 400m. So, I guess that’s good =)
I can already feel my muscles fired up from that run!
